Situated along busy Interstate 5 in northern California is a gem of a hike, well worth a couple hours to explore. Starting near the highway, the fairly easy trail wanders down past Hedge Creek Falls where explorers can go behind the falls and see the misty coolness float down. A bit farther and travelers arrive at the Sacramento River. The day we arrived the water was placid and not deep, but since we had camera gear and couldn't chance dunking it, we'll save the fording for another day. Hikers who do cross the water access a short trail to renowned Mossbrae Falls. This short hike is a great break on the drive from/to California to central Oregon's Willamette Valley.
