This was our 3rd season as a "retail" nursery - with regular open hours for visitors to the farm. Admittedly, we're not the typical garden center. We're a mom & pop backyard nursery, and we're still having trouble finding time to weed. However, we have made progress towards making it a viable business.

Here's the decision: while out local (in-person) business is showing decent growth, our mail-order selling across Canada at the beginning of the season doubled. That's a good thing, right? Well, yes. But it does leave us debating how to use our limited (time) resources for coming seasons. If those trends continue, it may just be a matter of time before the retail nursery becomes an afterthought (or a distraction?).
