His Worship the Mayor of uMngeni Municipality, Chris Pappas handed over equipment worth more than R16 000 to the Umkosi Poultry Business located in Emashingeni. The business is owned by 25-year-old Nompilo Shelembe.
The beneficiary who attended the NYDA business management start up training programme arranged through our Youth Development Office received the following equipment as part of the support from the Municipality for her business:-
33 Layers (for chicken feedings)
33 stands for the layers
30 chickens that lay eggs
Layer mash (chicken feed)
Nompilo Shelembe started the business in 2023 and her market includes local accommodation facilities and local tuck shops.
