TOP THINGS TO DO IN MENDOZA ARGENTINA - BESIDES DRINKING MALBEC! 🍷 (which is also great!)

This video is filmed a little differently to our usual videos due to the nature of the activities (it was pretty difficult to film and speak to the camera properly!)

We found some incredible activities to do in and around the Andes mountain range near Mendoza, we began the day bright and early and made our way out to do some white water rafting along the beautiful and rugged Mendoza river, we had gorgeous weather for it and despite slower water flow it was an adrenaline filled adventure!

We got dropped back to our apartment early afternoon for a quick turnaround before a second bus collected us to take us right out into the Andes and dropped us at ranch in the middle of nowhere. The ranch was run by a really cool, horse loving guy who takes care of rescue horses and makes a living taking tourists out into the Andes on horse back.

We wasted no time getting into the saddle and heading up some seriously steep terrain in time for the most rustic sunset view over the Andes. If the rafting was an adventure then this was another level escapade! We have a little horse riding experience but were surprised to find we were the only ones who had ever ridden a horse before and so ended up at the front leading 10 first time riders up into the Andes mountain range.

*Warning this is not a pretty or instagrammable type experience, it’s an adventurous, get dirty, get cut up from the vegetation and cling on for dear life as you lean forward and back to stay on your horse as they climb the rocky terrain type of experience! We loved it but it’s not for the feint hearted, so go for it but maybe ride a horse along a nice beach or somewhere first to get acquainted with horses in a calmer setting.

After over three hours of horse riding and returning back downhill in the dark we arrived back at the ranch where we then had the most delicious Argentinian Asado, it was incredible seeing all the food cooking and drinking wine (of course!) whilst being out on a ranch in amongst the Andes mountains with beautiful horses and a small group of people from all around the world. Highly recommend!

A British couple from just outside London, England. We got married in 2018 and decided instead of a honeymoon we’d travel the world together. We saved money and travel points, quit our jobs, rented our house out and boarded a one way flight in 2020. We started this Youtube channel to share our experiences with friends, family and anyone who plans to travel to the places we’re visiting. We leave TKT tips/facts in our vlogs and blogs to give information that we wish we’d had before visiting. We hope you find our content fun & useful :)
