Poppy is Ronan's little sister, Ronan was an almost 4 year old child with cancer whose mom had an online website about cancer awareness and caught Taylor's heart. Taylor wrote a song for him called "Ronan" and she sang it on a Cancer benefit concert in front of his family, in 2012. Ronan passed away in May 2011, a few days before turning 4 years old.
In 2021 Taylor added Ronan on Red Taylor's version, which included a music video full of wonderful pics and videos remembering Ronan, which were provided by his mom.

Ronan's family and Taylor have such a beautiful relationship, that as soon as Taylor knew about the new baby arrival on the family to a beautiful girl, which was named "Poppy" by Taylor Swift herself on 2013, she gifted them with a beautiful painting she made herself with flowers and a beautiful dedication on the back. She even got the chance to meet Poppy as a baby, and also invited them on the 1989 tour and Reputation Tour. Recently have attented to The Eras Tour. The love is that strong that Poppy's love for Taylor swift and her music has been present in her life as soon as she could talk.
