I do miss my old Red Maple HiLite (12 13 16 22 14SN) but for a long time, I could never find a matching 10" tom - so I let that kit go. Now that this kit kit has come into my possession, and with killer size toms; 8 10 12 14 (wish there was a 16) I was excited to be able to record it. Soundcheck time! Here's me playing around, putting the toms through its paces which I've reheaded with some of my current 'go-to' heads EVANS G2 Coated batters, and also EMAD on the kick. Have a listen to the bite these maple shells have (specially the 10"). Zero muffling! The positioning of the 8" is also something I used to play around with - I dig it! Check it out and let me know what you think.

Recorded at Dirty Laundry Studios Brisbane QLD, Australia SEPT 2024
