In this special edition of the Geo Interview, we hosted Ms Mugdha Sinha, Joint Secretary under the Ministry of Culture. The conversation explored the wide spectrum on which the Ministry operates to preserve and promote the cosmically vast and diverse aspects of India’s culture.

Ms Sinha looks after several departments: Galleries, Libraries, Archives, and Museums. She further shares her perspective on how the Ministry looks at the Indian culture as an entity entrusted with its trusteeship.

Our conversation with Ms Sinha delves into the launch and implementation of several initiatives undertaken by the Ministry ranging from the development of museums as next-gen community centres, the development of India's knowledge infrastructure with an emphasis on digitisation, to the launch of thematic book festivals targeting the new generation inculcating a habit of reading and bridging the generational divide in this digital era.
