I played harp by the stream near the forest in Sweden, along with the sound of the trickling waters. People wandered and cycled by, enjoying the serene ambience. An elderly couple were listening to me play outside their house, and came to speak to me. They were very grateful for the comforting music, as their family had just returned to Switzerland after a month long visit. We had a heartfelt conversation about the importance of family and learning from young ones. Like us they have twin children, as well as three others. They are from Lapland (over 1000 km north of here), and told me they have always needed to live near water. I noticed both had very light blue eyes. So to honour the water of life, here is my harp piece, ‘Flowing Waters’.
