Twenty-seven miles of rail trail (out-and-back) that connects five towns...it's an all-day adventure fueled by locally-made donuts and Mexican food! Forest City, Spindale, Rutherfordton, Ruth and Gilkey, NC are located in a thermal belt, hence the name. All five communities share this great trail, which features a church from the early 1800s and a historic site from the days of the North Carolina Gold Rush.
