Tourette syndrome is a neurological condition that starts in childhood and is characterised by the presence of unpleasant, involuntary movements or vocalisations, called tics. Although there is no cure for the condition itself, there is now a promising new method that can reduce the frequency of tics, as well as the urge to tic, by applying electrical signals to a nerve in the arm.
