In this video I light a lantern from the 1930s which has, as far as Im concerned, never been lit before. Its a rare occasion finding old lanterns in pristine condition that has never held a flame. Now its time to light this Feurhand no. 175 for the first time in 90 years.

The lanterns included in this video is the Feuerhand no. 175 Super Baby from the 1930´s and the Feuerhand no. 276 Baby Special from the early 2000´s.

The 175-series were manufactured from 1933-1945. It weighs 330 g and has a fount capacity of 175 cm3. The burning time is 14 hours per refill and it runs on any fuel that kerosene lanterns can use.

The 1930s lantern is all original, even the glass globe and, as far as I can see, the unburnt wick also. The glass globe is made by Schott & Jena which were the manufacturers of the glass globes during that time period.

More information on Feurhand lanterns can be found on their website www.feuerhand.de
