PAINTING Guys show how to caulk oak kitchen cabinets.

If water gets behind the seams it always ends up prematurely blowing out the paint or clear coat ? To help this unsightly gap common with oak cabinets... we use DAP 230 caulking.
If you don’t clean and sand well, followed by pushing caulking deep into the seam... the caulking can work it’s way out over time.
To avoid this... we never caulk panels that are loose or poorly made or greasy behind the panel. If they are clean and have been sanded properly, caulking should hold and look great for years. Done well, this process makes old oak panels look much better, especially when spray finishing.

if you are painting oak cabinets white or light shades... This process has been working great for us for decades.
