This early John Coltrane solo comes from a 1951 recording made during his time with Dizzy Gillespie. At only 20 measures, it is certainly one of Coltrane's shorter solos. In this solo over a G (concert) blues, Coltrane has a nice way of mixing the blues and bebop that is reminiscent of Charlie Parker.

The transcription starts four measures before the solo. The form of We Love To Boogie is a 12-bar blues so Coltrane's solo starts on the 5th measure of the form. Please note that the solo is written in the transposed key for tenor saxophone, not in concert pitch.
