Elephants
African elephants are larger than Indian elephants, with longer tusks and bigger ears.
African elephants have a concave back, while Indian elephants have a convex back.
African elephants have two finger-like projections at the tip of their trunks, while Indian elephants have only one.

Deer Species

Hippos
To stay cool in the blistering African heat, hippos spend most of their day in rivers and lakes. Their eyes, nose and ears are located on the top of their head, which means they can see and breathe whilst submerged in the water.

Giraffes
The natural habitat of the giraffes has several types of plants, among them trees and shrubs. If we compare that to the conditions they have in captivity, is very upsetting.

Zebra
Zebras are iconic for their stripes, which are actually unique to each individual, like a human’s fingerprint.

Zebras are native to the continent of Africa, specifically eastern and southern parts such as Kenya. Favoured habitats include grasslands, woodlands, and mountainous areas.

Lions
Male lions are much bigger than females and they have large manes, or hair, which covers their head and neck and stretches underneath to their belly. Lion cubs have light spots on their fur when they are born. These fade when they grow up and they help camouflage, or hide, them when they’re young.

Meerkat
Meerkats live in cooperative packs of 3 to 25. Packs will chase or fight one another if they meet. Packs spend the night inside, and pups are born there. They also retreat into their tunnels for an afternoon rest to avoid the heat of midday.

In the morning the pack leaves the den to search for food—mostly beetles, caterpillars, termites, spiders, and scorpions but also lizards, birds, small snakes, and rodents.

Kangaroo
Female kangaroos have a pouch on their stomachs that they use to carry and protect their young. It can even stretch to fit multiple joeys at once!

Llama
Llamas are members of the camelid family meaning they're pretty closely related to camels.
Yarn made from llama fiber is soft and lightweight, yet remarkably warm. The soft, undercoat is used for garments and handicrafts while the coarse, outer coat is frequently used for rugs and ropes.
