I currently have the Sapphire Preferred and have had Chase credit cards since I was 18. To me, either of these cards are a must have addition to your credit card setup and I believe the increased welcome bonus provides a great opportunity for you. You can always upgrade in the future, which is my plan. - Enjoy! Click "Show More" to see Ad Disclosure

Which Card Should You Choose?
The Sapphire Preferred would be better suited for those that are new to travel credit cards. The lower annual fee and competitive points make it a strong contender, without the commitment of a high annual fee.

The Sapphire Reserve is better suited if you take full advantage of the higher point redemption value and travel benefits. Priority Pass alone is $469/yr and your first $300 in travel are credited back to you... well worth it if you travel!
