Over the last roughly 6 months of my continued journey learning game development, I've made a ton of progress on my indie game Castlemancer. It's been awhile since I made a proper devlog about the game, primarily because since the previous devlog there has been so many changes.

One of the hardest parts of game dev for me has been figuring out what to work on next. As you can probably tell from all of my previous devlogs related to other indie games, there is so much to do, its hard to priortize what needs to be done next.

There are tons of devlogs all across YouTube, and I think a common theme between them is the constant switching of priorities and tasks. In this devlog, I sat down with a literal whiteboard to walk through the necessary features I still need to add to my indie game.

Game development is extremely hard, and to continue with it for the long term, we all need a productivity routine. If you're feeling overwhelmed with learning game dev, then I highly suggest sitting down with a notepad, whiteboard, or Notion page to just clearly organize your thoughts.

Comment below what you thought of the devlog and tips for learning game development!
