In high school, Zhang showcased her incredible talent, being ranked twice as the top amateur golfer in the world while attending Pacific Academy. That's when whispers began circulating about her being a player to watch closely. Upon arriving at Stanford University in 2021, without having declared an academic major yet, Zhang fully focused on honing her game. And boy, did she succeed. During her years at the prestigious institution, this young woman from Irvine, California, would embark on one of the most impressive collegiate careers we've seen in women's golf.
Now, at just 20 years old, Rose Zhang was just beginning her rookie season on the LPGA Tour after an amateur career that could easily be considered one of the most impressive in history. During her years at Stanford University, Zhang won 12 out of the 20 tournaments she competed in, including two NCAA national championships. This made her the first woman to achieve this consecutively. Moreover, it has made her the person who has achieved it the most, more than any other man or woman, including the legendary Tiger Woods.
