令和５年８月５日に行われました、秋田県鹿角市の伝統行事『谷内七夕祭』の様子をご紹介します。

谷内七夕祭の概要について
鹿角市八幡平地区の谷内集落の七夕祭は、毎年８月の第一土曜日に開催される行事です。
集落の５つの地区ごとに特徴的な将棋の駒をかたどった王将灯籠と、太鼓を備えた台車をを大人、子供が曳いて地区内を巡行します。人手が少ない地区ではトラクターなどの機械で曳いている地区もあります。太鼓の曲は「七夕太鼓」「ねぶた流し」の２曲があります。
灯籠の正面には「王将」の文字、右側面には「七夕祭」、左側面には「豊年万作」、裏面には勇猛な武者絵を描いています。

Overview of the Tanabata Festival in Taninai, KazunoCity

The Tanabata Festival in the Taninai settlement of the Hachimantai district in KazunoCity is an event held every year on the first Saturday of August.

In this event, adults and children pull carts equipped with characteristic shogi piece-shaped lanterns called 'Oushou Lanterns' and drums as they parade through each of the settlement's five districts.
In some districts with fewer people, tractors and other machinery are used for pulling.

There are two drum compositions performed during the procession: 'Tanabata Taiko' and 'Nebuta Nagashi.'

On the lanterns, you can find the word '王将(Samurai King)' on the front, '七夕祭(Tanabata Festival)' on the right side, '豊年万作（Good Harvest)' on the left side, and a brave Samurai warrior illustration on the back."
