Reuploaded in HD. Just wanted to post a video of the normal engine noise from my 2023 Ford Escape Active FWD with the Ford 1.5L 'Dragon" engine, exclusive to the 2023-2025 Escape. This specific version is very similar, but not identical to the 1.5L engine in the 2020-2022 Escape, in that it has been modified to meet tighter EPA emissions standards. The 2020-2022 and 2021-2024 Bronco Sport have a slightly different version of this engine. This engine is equipped with port and direct injection. Here it is shown from cold start warming to normal operating temperature. About 12 minutes to warm from cold to operating temp on a 80F degree day. The engine is loud at first because it is retarding the timing and revving up higher to reduce emissions and warm up the engine faster. I hope this helps someone trying to figure out if they have abnormal engine noises.
