Originally planned as the fourth single off the album Goodbye Yellow Brick Road (1973), the song Harmony ended up being the B-side to the hit song Bennie And The Jets. This decision was made as the song would've been released too close to the next album Caribou (1974) which was already finished. Although not being a hit song, Harmony have remained a fan favorite. It's one of Elton John's shorter tracks, and he has mentioned that he believes the song would've been a hit, had the song been released as a single.

The song has been played on and off, both with the band and solo. This version is inspired by the solo versions from the Medusa Tour in 1999/2000. The song has been transposed one semitone down from the album version. The song was last time played live in 2012.
