On 5 April 1982, Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher was interviewed by ITN's Glyn Mathias . Three days previously, Argentine forces had invaded the Falkland Islands. Mathias asked Mrs Thatcher about the resignation of Foreign Secretary Lord Carrington, and whether the government really intended to fight a war against Argentina in order to recover the Falklands.
