Does the Quran explicitly address covering the hair? Was hijab just a cultural practice and not a religious mandate? How did the female companions react to the revelation of hijab? What if the hadith of Asma is weak? Was hijab because of class systems of Madinah and is now outdated without their existence? What if women who wear hijab are victims and survivors of assault- does that make hijab obsolete? Did only male scholars say hijab is an obligation?
