This is a day in the life of Jieun and Heecheol, the owners of Hica, a popular dessert café that has been running for about three years. In February 2023, they moved to Mangwon, a neighborhood in Seoul that has become increasingly popular among young Koreans due to the rising number of cute and Instagrammable cafes and restaurants.

Jieun and Heecheol have been married for about six years and both used to work in the fashion industry. They left their office jobs to start their own café, which is open six days a week. However, they often end up working on cake orders even on their days off. Now that they have trained employees like Soyeong, they plan to take a day off in rotation. They usually work for more than 12 hours a day, sometimes even until 1-2 in the morning on weekends. They can manage it because they truly enjoy making cakes and running a café, and their love and care are evident in every bite of their cakes!
