I refitted the alternator belt using the method suggested by Normski in his video. I was unable to film the actual process but you can see the 6mm bolt in place on the pulley which prevents the belt slipping off as you wind it on. Thank you Normski.
Also, just to add, the final torque for the pulley nut is 140 nm - not quite sure why you do 40 nm first
