On our way to Cairns we had stopped in wonderful places, and we have found free campsite as well.
If you are planning your trip and you want a quick stop we recommend you those places.
Smalleys Beach is a peaceful campsite close to the beach just about 30 or 40 minutes from Mackay with 11 campsites for 8 and 11 peoples.
Balgal Beach is a free campsite area, with facilities like potable water, showers and toilets. great to touch it for few nights and keep your going with your trip, a very god kiosk with fish and chips and differents meals. you won't regrets.
