We are living in a world divided, characterized by deep social and planetary imbalances, the roots of which lie in a triad of obstructive giants: neoliberal, racialized capitalism; science of the logical-positivist tradition; and new public management. Underling these is the largest of obstructive giants – our taken-for-granted assumptions that normalize and naturalize these pervasive forces. The socio-economic and political reordering required in co-building an eco-social world calls for a reimagination of thought and attitude and a cultural reordering. It requires a shift from egocentric and ethnocentric worldviews towards a cosmocentric, Ubuntu worldview.
