It all starts with a leak: secret data records containing around 3.6 million documents. They originate from Cyprus, notorious for dubious financial transactions and particularly popular with Russian oligarchs.

Confidential documents from Cypriot service providers give us an insight into a large number of dubious transactions - and into the shadowy world of the super-rich.

We also come across a German journalist in the data: Hubert Seipel. According to the documents, the award-winning journalist is said to have received a sponsorship contract for his Putin book. It's worth many hundreds of thousands of euros. What exactly did he get so much money for? And why did he hide payments from Putin's circle from the public?
