This is not a cheap DIY shelf, I stubbornly requested that I didn't want our main bookshelf to have any vertical supports (I wanted a floating bookshelf). The problem is that this bookshelf is 4.5m long and each shelf needs to hold over a hundred kilograms in books.

As a result, the bookshelf needed to have a massive amount of structural supports behind each of the shelves.
