Shows how beta minus particles from a Strontium 90 source can be deflected using a strong neodymium magnet so that more of them enter an offset Geiger Muller tube. If you are demonstrating this make sure you don’t put your hand in front of the source whilst moving the magnet in and out or moving when moving the GM tube. Good when teaching radioactivity or charged particles in magnetic fields in A-level Physics.
