The Songkran festival is the traditional Thai New Year's Day and is celebrated from April 13 to April 15. The holiday is known for its water festival. Major streets and alleys are used as arenas for water fights. Thais people and Foreign tourists, participate in this tradition by splashing water on each other. The most famous activity of the Songkran celebrations is the throwing of water or water splashing. People will walk the streets having 'water fights' using containers of water or water guns, or stand at the side of roads with a hose and soak anyone who passes by. A lot of people on the street are having fun for water splashing.
