Today were upgrading the rotors and pads on my Shimano BR MT-420 braking system. I chose sintered metal brake pads (Shimano DO2S) and needed to switch to new rotors (Shimano XT SM-RT86 Ice Tech) that were compatible with them. The stock rotors that came with my Shimano BR MT-420's were for use with resin pads only. The whole Idea behind this process is to achieve better and more consistent braking power. The stock resin pads were due to be changed and I am sure glad I chose to upgrade to the new pads and rotors. Braking is now much more controlled and I am not getting the power variance that I had with the resin pads. Super happy with the upgrade!
