Hello guys!
First of all to all of you that have been following me so far: Sorry for the lack of content here on YouTube over the last year! My video-filming-situation with covid and everything else going on was a bit problematic since I don't have a camera and the necessary equipment to record videos of similar quality myself! I'm planning on doing a lot more and also a little different type of content (demos, tutorials, reviews etc.) here on this channel so if you have any wishes on what guitar/music related content you'd like to see here let me know in the comments!
Anyway, to the video!
Toxic Garbage Island was actually the first Gojira song I ever heard and to say the least I was positively shocked about the sheer brutality and unbelievable power this band delivers! Since then I definitely have become a huge fan, especially of their later work (starting with the way of all flesh)!
For this video I have double tracked the guitars with two slightly different parts on each side. The right guitar in the mix is seen in the "big Video" so to speak and the left guitar in the top right corner ;)
I used an Engl Ironball head with a 112 Engl cab loaded with a V30 Celestion speaker, mic'd with a shure sm57 straight into Garageband. I didn't put any EQ on the guitars just a hair of compression and that was it. I'm super chuffed with the tone I got and the guitars sound absolutely massive!
