I could never find a video which gave a concise overview of the city of Constantinople itself, which might explain how its physical structure bloomed in the early medieval period, how it developed over the successive centuries, and how it waned before the final defeat of the Byzantine Empire in the 15th Century. This video is an attempt to do just that.

Naturally, a video of this length could never hope to cover all aspects of such an enormous and complex city - so this is just intended to be a summary of Constantinople's development. I hope to be able to make some more videos about the city in future, especially since I've now drawn a map of the city that I can use!
