2017 is a great year for the 5 Series because it got a complete redesign with a new platform and new engine, bigger and better is almost every way. Even though the new 4 series is larger than the outgoing model BMW managed to shave off weight by using extensive use of aluminum, magnesium and high strength steel. The 5 Series is a rather large sedan with a very spacious interior but thanks to an efficient turbo 4 cylinder engine and an 8-speed automatic transmission it can still get up to 33-mpg on the highway.
