Synopsis: In early 1942, the Japanese Army carried out fierce attacks in the Base Area in northwestern Shanxi. To deter the Japanese forces, Li Yunlong led an independent regiment to attack Ping’an County. The Japanese troops quickly sent reinforcements from all directions, while the Chinese troops smothered their efforts at all points. Li Zhenghu received orders to help Kong Jie defend Snow Wolf Valley with his independent cavalry. He happened to stumble upon the suspicious movements of the elite Japanese soldiers, who were trying to cross the rugged Ghost Cry Valley and ambush Li Yunlong's troops.
