Well this is a trip I've been wanting to do for a long long time now!

🥳 It finally happened!! - I got tattooed by the legendary Apo Whang Od in Buscalan, The Philippines 🇵🇭 🥳

Apo Whang Od is a 107 year old tattoo artist who is apart of the Butbut Tribe / Kalinga people. She lives in the remote northern mountains which makes for a long, tough trip to get to her! ⛰️

She also has just featured on the cover of Vogue Magazine!

The tour took a gruelling start in the evening from manila.
It was incredibly hot and humid and on top of that the buses aircon didn't work properly at the back of the bus and my long legs didn't fit into the seat without being crushed. But luckily someone on my tour swapped with me which meant the ride was a little more pleasant. I say a little more, because it took 15 hours to reach Apo Whang Od in Buscalan! 🥵

The roads were windy and dangerous! There were points where we'd be driving right on the edge of the cliff with no barrier and inches away from the drop! 😬

We finally got to our homestay which was very welcoming! We had our meals cooked for us and lovely social moments talking to our fellow tour mates! 🍻

We then got the chance to have a tattoo by Apo Whang Odd nieces! I didn't go for this, but Emma did!
We then ventured through the village to get our signature 3 dots from Apo Whang Od! 🥳

The tattoos were very quick and not as painful as I thought! 😅

Apo Whang Od herself was very sweet with everyone and I also had a lovely moment where we caught each others eyes and had a giggle.

She also took a cheeky stroke of my legs!!!!! 👀

Overall, the village of Buscalan was very special. Everyone was friendly and I loved my experience!
