The baby Robin chicks were fed a huge meal today. It was too big for easy swallowing at this age. Two of the chicks choked on it and had to spit it out before they finally were able to swallow it. Usually at this age the parents bring small meals for the chicks that are easy to swallow. Their mouths are not big enough for lager food like seen in this video. Unfortunately, bringing large pieces of food like this can prove to be fatal when it gets stuck in chicks throats. They suffocate once the food is lodged in their mouth. Many parent birds have to furiously try to remove the piece of food in order to save the baby chicks life. This Robin parent kept a close eye on the chicks as I think they realized this meal was a bit too big. If you liked this video please subscribe!
