With our exit papers in hand, we sailed away from the Panama coastline, and we felt like we had nowhere and everywhere to go. With no Country papers, Boundless’ only cruising permit is the international waters of the Pacific Ocean. Now of course this will be short lived, and although we are only following the coastline Northeast to Panama’s neighboring country of Costa Rica, its fun to think about the day we sail away from a country, exit papers in hand, with an ocean of water between us and our next destination. Currently, we are right about here. There is a peninsula that we have to round tonight, and somewhere on that land feature is the boarder between the two countries. We feel very lucky to have some wind for this passage, and to use that wind, we are sailing slightly off course, but we aren’t complaining. Boundless is sailing at 45 degrees apparent wind angle, in 8-10 knots of apparent wind, moving along at around 5 knots. This episode, you’re sailing with us into the sunset, and tomorrow, we embark on the next journey of checking into Costa Rica and getting more familiar with our diesel engine. But for now, theres nothing to do but enjoy the ride ✌🏼
