सेम मुखेम मंदिर के दर्शन करने के बाद हम अगले दिन ही कोटेश्वर महादेव मंदिर गए। नई टिहरी से होते हुए हम बादशाही थौल से होते हुए रानीचौरी गए। फिर वहां से डंडा चली से होते हुए गज्जा पहुंचे और पोखरि चाका से होते हुए कोटेश्वर महादेव पहुंचे।
अमित रमोला और गौरव चौहान और हमारी छोटी बहन कोमल हमारे साथ इस
सफर में साथ थी।
ट्रैकिंग का जूनून रखने वालो को भी यहाँ जरूर आना चाहिए।
भगवान भोलेनाथ पर आस्था रखने वाले शृद्धालु यहाँ आते है और आस पास के गॉव के सभी लोगो के पूजनीय भोलेनाथ सभी लोगो की मनोकामना पूरी करते है।
यहाँ पर शिवलिंग का अकार सभी दूसरे शिव मंदिरो से अलग है, माना जाता है की यहाँ के शिवलिंग का अकार हर साल कुछ सेंटीमीटर बढ़ता जा रहा है।

मंदिर के निकट ही भागीरथी का तट है जहा पर शृद्धालु, गंगा जल भरकर शिवलिंग को जागृत करते है और मनोकामना मांगते है।

Initially, the Linga was small, but with the passage of time, the size and power of Linga increased. When I had words with a priest he said, that the Linga was connected with the Bhagirathi river from the bottom of Shiva Linga. How - When - the question always rises but this is only the power of Lord Shiva.

कोटेश्वर महादेव मंदिर, उत्तराखंड की दो सहायक नदियों के किनारे , स्थित हैं एक कोटेश्वर महादेव रुद्रप्रयाग के अलकनंदा नदी के किनारे इस्थित है वहीं दूसरे कोटेश्वर महादेव टिहरी जिले में , भागीरथी तट के किनारे स्थित है, माना जाता है कि जब भस्मासुर को दिए वरदान से बचने के लिए भगवान शिव यहां पर स्थित गुफा में आकर रुके थे , वहीँ दूसरी ओर टिहरी गढ़वाल में स्थित कोटेश्वर महादेव भगवान विष्णु जी के आधार पर युक्त है माना जाता है कि भगवान विष्णु ने यहां पर लाखों राक्षसों को मुक्ति दिलाई थी .
