SKC Movement history :

Bengal has always seen a revolution whenever society hit rock bottom. In the 1800s, the harmful practice of Sati was common, until Ram Mohan Roy sparked the Bengal Renaissance, joined by leaders like Vivekananda, Tagore, and Vidyasagar. But Bengal faced decline after the 1905 partition, 1943 famine, and the 1947 Indo-Pak partition. Communism’s restricted regime followed, and then TMC’s rise in 2011 worsened the situation.

Aryan Mukherjee, troubled by societal issues, started the *SKC movement (Sone Ki Chidiya)* in 2024 to reconnect Indians with their heritage through art, education, and pride, while aiming for world peace. SKC grew rapidly in 30 days. Initially focused on slums, the movement shifted when the shocking rape and murder of a young doctor, Tilottama, at R G Kar hospital ignited protests. The Justice Movement, demanding justice for Tilottama, became the largest uprising since India’s independence.

Inspired by Tagore’s 1905 Rakhi movement, Aryan Mukherjee led the preparation for the *Durga Tilottama event* on September 22nd, 2024. Arya Gupta’s writings about Tagore’s Rakhi tradition inspired the idea, and the SKC team collaborated for the event. Aniruddha Datta and Anabil Ganguli designed a powerful poster, lifted by them at the event.
In front of Victoria Memorial, Aryan gave a passionate speech, taking an oath for world peace, followed by Ex-IPS officers Pankaj Dutta and Chayan Mukherjee. Together, they tied Rakhis on a stethoscope symbolizing Tilottama. Under the shadows of the Memorial, people tied Rakhis to each other, echoing the unity of 1905. Aryan recited Krishna’s "Yada Yada" shloka in what became known as "The Victoria Memorial Oath of SKC."
The event concluded with the signing of a petition for justice for Tilottama, as history was made in unity, respect, and the pursuit of justice.
