After the region was belted with over 130mm of rainwater in a day, an absolute deluge of water came down the Campaspe River putting the water at the weir above major flood level on 8th and 9th of January. This video was filmed a couple of days after that once the water had receded quite a long way.
I found a section of water near the edge where there wasn't too much current and cast my Jan Juc worms out into it, using 2 rods with size 4 hooks and my usual running sinker rigs. It didn't take long at all for the first fish to come along, and from there it was a very entertaining session.
Usually with this amount of running water there's plenty of yellowbelly about, however on this particular occasion it was an absolute carp fest.
