Nestled within a peaceful suburb of Hyderabad, the site was a challenge as it had residential units on three sides with restricted viewpoints, creating obstacles to lighting, ventilation and hindering indoor air quality.

Inspired by the ancient Chettinad Architecture, the design had to accommodate the playfulness of children, the rigour of the middle-aged and the grace of retirement into a single-family unit along with a courtyard that created a balance between the built and unbuilt spaces.

Principal Architects Shashank Rao and Anmisha Reddy of Urban Narratives explain the design philosophy of this beautiful house with a courtyard in Telangana.
