Gday from Queensland, and welcome to Project XB.

This is an ongoing video series to capture the restoration of my 1974 XB Ford Falcon. Although I am a qualified mechanic and transmission re-builder, I am new to restorations and have quiet a lot to learn. My aim is to to show what is achievable with a little know how and the right mind set. With any luck I can pass on what I have learnt and pick up some tips from like minded people along the way.

I am not aiming for a show car when it's finished - it will be restored with a mixture of originality and modern features...

So crack open a cold one, get comfy and come along for the ride, see you in the shed!

Cheers 🍻

PART 2

In this video I make a start on the bodywork and repair of the rusted sections in the plenum chamber. I also forgot to mention that the thickness of the sheet metal I am using is 0.9mm (20 gauge), strong enough to be welded without blowing holes in it (if welder is set up right) yet easy enough to cut with snips and form by hand.

Taking on a restoration project is a huge commitment in itself and I would like to thank the people who have taken the time to document their projects / tutorials and have given their advice so people like me can learn. I will be sharing links of videos that I have found to be extremely helpful and will be giving credit to those particular people.

Come catch up with me here:
