Footage of Spanish Head of State, General Francisco Franco announcing before the Cortes (the Parliament of Spain) that his choice of successor was to be Prince Juan Carlos of Bourbon.

The 76-year-old Caudillio said that the 31-year-old king-designate would succeed him in the event of his death or incapacitation.

The choice was overwhelmingly approved by the Cortes.
