In this Physics video in Hindi for B.Sc. we explained one problem associated with de Broglie's hypothesis and matter wave. In his Ph.D. thesis in 1924 de Broglie postulated that every matter is associated with a wave whose wavelength depends upon the momentum of the particle. And he named this wave matter wave. He hypothised that the wavelength of the matter wave is the ratio of the Planck's constant to the momentum of the particle.
But, some calculations lead us to a point where it comes out that the speed of the particle is more than the speed of the matter wave.
