Do you want to know which beaches are free of sargassum and in what season to visit Cancun to avoid it, in this video we explain everything you need to know about sargassum.

-What is sargassum?
It is a species of brown seaweed that floats and its size is changing day by day, being favored by the high temperature of the water, the currents, the excess of fertilizers spilled in the sea and that a certain amount comes from the Sargasso Sea. It also has much to do with global warming caused by man and it is time to act to prevent this from happening.

-How to avoid sargassum?
The way to avoid sargassum and that does not ruin or bother you in your holidays we suggest not to schedule them for the months in which it is very hot, since this favors its growth and therefore causes the massive recales in the coasts.

The months in which it is less likely to be sargasso on the beaches of Quintana Roo are from November to March.

And if you already have everything set aside and paid, do not worry you do not have to cancel, we suggest you check the "Observatorio Ciudadano del Sargazo en Quintana Roo"
http://bit.ly/observatorio-sargazo that was created to keep us informed about how the sargasso goes in the beaches, which ones are clean, which ones have a lot and it is better to avoid them and other suggestions of places to visit and it is worth your trip.

- What uses are given to sargassum?
To date it has been used as fertilizer for plants and in Puerto Morelos is the first house built with blocks of adobe and sargasso. Tests have been made to use it in the production of cosmetics, livestock feed, as cement and surely over time will be discovering more uses to take advantage of the sargasso and thus help with the cleaning of the beaches.

-What can I do to prevent global warming?
Turn off all your devices and disconnect them when you do not use them.
Save on gas and electricity by installing a solar water heater and solar panels in your home.
Recycle, reuse and reduce.
Use public transportation from time to time, walk or ride a bike.
Share your car
