Eric Howard Carmen (August 11, 1949 – March 2024) was an American singer-songwriter, guitarist and keyboardist.
He was the lead vocalist of the Raspberries, who had a million-selling single with "Go All the Way", and then as a solo artist had hits with "All by Myself", "Never Gonna Fall in Love Again", "She Did It", "Hungry Eyes", and "Make Me Lose Control".

I grew up exposed to a lot of music as a child and one of them is Eric Carmen's. My elder siblings used to listen to Eric Carmen's hit 'Make me lose control' on their portable cd players back in the day. I remember the cd being a compilation of hits from the early 1990's which include the song that I've mentioned. I never did like any of the other songs my siblings listen to. But Eric Carmen was an exception, I always liked his songs as they were pop rock songs. So as I grew older I'd listen to Eric's discography and find out he was in a band called The Raspberries which was a 1970's light rock /power pop band. I always thought Eric was a cool solo artist and being in a band in his younger years definitely makes him even cooler! It's sad that he died too soon, as he was I think is still active in music! Anyways his music will still live on in my playlists and life soundtrack. He may be gone but he won't be forgotten! May he rest in peace! 🕊️
