The dessert was an emphatic 3-0 (25-14, 25-14, 25-19) sweep of their encounter with defending VNL champions Türkiye. Opposite Rosamaria Montibeller led the way with 14 points, including two kill blocks. Middle blocker Ana Carolina Da Silva (Carol) impressed with three kill blocks and two aces to reach the double digits with an 11-point total. On the European champions’ side, opposite Melissa Vargas topped the chart with 13 points. The mighty Brazilians won the Preliminary Phase on 12-0 and 34, while last year’s winners finished sixth on 8-4 and 25.
