Ukraine continues to be attacked by Russia. In times of war, works of art are destroyed, illegally confiscated and illegally traded.
To escape destruction, 16 works of art from the Bohdan Barbara Hanenko Memorial Museum in Ukraine's capital Kiev have been secretly moved to the Louvre. Five of them are currently on display at the Louvre Museum in a special exhibition titled "To the Source of Sacred Images". Among them, religious paintings "Icons" painted in the 6th and 7th centuries are included, and you can appreciate the works that became the source of Byzantine art.
The special exhibition is on display at Denon 173 exhibition room until November 6th.
