video transcript:
Hey guys, welcome or welcome back to my YouTube channel. How are you guys doing? I hope you're doing amazing, and I hope you've had a great day. Whenever you're watching this morning or night. I hope you've had an amazing day so far. And in today's video, I'm gonna be teaching beginners how to draw. So I know we've all had that point where we're like, I suck at drawing, I do not know how to draw, and you kind of just wanted to know the basics of drawing, and if that's what you're here for, this video is for you. So today I'll be teaching you the basics, and I'm nowhere near a professional at drawing, but I'm gonna be teaching you the things that helped me personally and that I that helped me. So a couple things is how to sketch, finding your personal art style, the type of supplies you need, and more. But I'll get to that in the video. So keep watching.

SUPPLIES
so first thing i think is an important step is finding what school supplies you need. let me tell you as an intermediate artist you di not need expensive school supplies. like insted of starting out with prismacolors start out with crayola or studio/affordable colored pencils then as you get better get and higher quality supplies. basics youll need are

pencils, could be any pencils. i personally recommend mechanical pencils, and i rather use them more than wooden #2 pencils.

youll need 1 good pair of either colored pencils or markers. i personally rather colored pencils more than markers. but if you would get markers id recommend not getting water based just because theyre very streaky and i recommend alcohol markers, again rhey dont be fany they could be from any brand, i loveeeee ohuhu! theyre like my holy grail for markers and i also like prismacolor and crayola colored pencils

you’ll obviously need earsers, ruler, and maybe a blending stub(i rather use my finger

youll also need a sketchbook because let me tell you from someone who started drawing with printer paper, the paper is extremely thin and nothing blends, so i rather get a good quality affordable sketchbook

and thats around it for the BASIC supplies.

PRACTICE:

next id say practice. i feel like before you start any big drawing practice the simple things youll need.

start out by drawing a circle, square or triangle and practice a couple things in those. try blending start from dark to light, try the i think its called spiralled blending then also line up to down belnding. then try different thickness with the pencil and colored pencils/ markers tou have!

REFERENCE

i feel, like as a small artist it can be intimidating ti like draw something that someone else drew because u think its like stealing, well gurl (or boys) its called inspiration. if you draw something you found on pinterest fir example then post it on social media and you know who drew it, than tag them and give them credit for their creativity.

DRAW

and the most and important step, draw! just start drawing. most likely you’re first couple drawings wont look too good but give it time. drawing is not something that comes in an hour, it takes weeks if not months or even maybe years.

so the steps first drawing are ( form my experience)

* Grab a paper, pencil, and an eraser, and give yourself 10 minutes to create an outline and another 10 minutes to shade the drawing.
* It's best to place your device directly in front of you so you can draw the reference without lifting or turning your head. This makes it a lot easier to compare your drawing to the reference as you go along.
* Don't think too much about what you're drawing and focus on the shapes that you see.
* Pay attention to the proportions and angles between the different parts of the drawing. It's helpful to occasionally step back and zoom out a bit to check proportions.
* It's okay to draw over any pencil marks and make corrections using an eraser ifnecessary.
* Remember if a drawing is messy it is a sign that you're learning something new.
* Be proud of your effort!

and by now youre rocking it you did everything for youre level! youre now a mix between beginner and intermediate and hopefully if you keep on practicing youll be just as good as multiple artists.
